What is happiness??

Well today I was prompted to think about happiness.  What makes people happy?  Some people never seem to be happy to me, but in their own world they say they are happy.

Happiness can be different for everyone.  What makes one person happy does not necessarily make another person feel the same way.

So what is happiness? Is it thinking of positive things and does negativity make people unhappy? Today I am happy in fact nearly every day I feel a sense of happiness because my life is,generally speaking, made up, of helping people to feel better about themselves and the end result makes me happy because I have been part of making them feel happy.

So is happiness a sense of achievement?  How different do you feel when you are happy to when you are not happy.  How do you define your feelings, or the feelings that you feel when you are happy as apposed to when you are not

For me it is a sense of excitement, a sense of fulfilment, and almost like it is a surreal .  Is that how others feel when they are happy?

I would love some feed back on this subject it is so interesting to see what makes other's happy, and how they determine the feelings they have when they are happy.

Can you be happy when you have negative thoughts or is it only when you are in positive mode that you can feel happy.

I find that happiness sometimes happens when I have been feeling down about something and then next thing something happens unexpectedly to change my mood and that feeling of happiness kicks in and that sense of expectation finds its way into my brain and my body and I am in happy mode.

So can one feel happy and sad at the same time?  I don't know maybe someone out there has a theory or some explanation of what makes one sad and what makes one happy.

Sometimes a sense of achievement makes you happy when you perhaps had been struggling with a particular assignment and feeling frustration then all of a sudden success!!! and you feel happy and elated.

I think sad is perhaps brought on by an event such as death, or illness of someone close to you, or even perhaps, sad about the state of the world, or closure.

When happiness is elation, usually about a positive event, a family gathering, being in a particular place, or something you are looking forward to.  Sometimes the anticipation of an event can make you happier than the exact event when it happens.  Maybe you are disappointed in the outcome of an event you were feeling a great anticipation for and it  did not live up to what you had anticipated it would be.  So then would you feel sad?

Today I feel happy, my Son and his wife are arriving from Australia for Easter and for my 80th birthday.  I was very ho hum!! about my birthday as my whole family will not be able to be here for different circumstances, however now it is close only a few days to go and I am happy that a large portion of my family will be here with me to celebrate and I am grateful for those friends who have put off going away for Easter, to stay back and be here to celebrate this momentous occasion.

I have my health, and a lovely family and lots of lovely friends so why would I not be happy.

So with that note I will close this rambling and hope that someone will give me some ideas on how they feel when they are happy as apposed to being unhappy.  Is it just a state of mind or is it something else.  I don't know do you?

your cells are your lifeline

Did you know that your cells are what need to be fed not your stomach.  Most of us who are conscientious about our food think we eat healthily, But do we????

Today when we go to the supermarket you pick up the our veges, do we know where and when they were picked,  how old they are when the hit the supermarket?  Did they come from a far of land were they were in season because in the country you live in they are out of season.

Do you know if your apples were picked a few days ago or where they last season's apples that have been in cold store.  Were you bananas picked green and put into store with gas to ripen them?

The tinned foods you buy, do you read the label to check on what additives are in the tin to keep the products from spoiling, how much sugar or salt is in the product?

According to statistics, even if you grow your own veges and fruit the chance of it having the nutrition in it is had even 10 years ago, has probably reduced about 10 to 20% . The reason,  The soil around the world is depleted to such an extent that it no longer contains as much vitamins and minerals that it used to.  Therefore the food we produce no longer has the same amount of nutrition it should have.

Whilst it used to be, and apple a day keeps the door away, today you need to eat 20 apples to get the same nutrition out of it.

So getting back to feeding out Cells.  There is a book written by Nobel Prize winner Dr Louis Ignarro and his colleague Dr. Andew Myers, called Health is Wealth.  It points out the importance of feeding our cells and not eating what our stomachs want but not what our Cells need.

Feeding your cells means making sure they get 114 nutritients that they need everyday.  Failure to do this means cellular depletion which causes ill health, and diseases such as arthritis, High blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and many other of today's health problems.

Doctors today treat the symptons of diseases and feed out bodies with chemicals that have to be neutralised by our organs like the liver and the kidneys which will eventually pack up if we give them too much work to do.

If you are really interested in healthy aging with good nutrition you should research his book.  It is amazing. Click on his photo to locate more information & where full nutrition can be obtained.

Attitude - Good attitude vs Bad attitude

ATTITUDE - The Dictionary explains this word explains it's meaning  as "A point of view" "A way of thinking" "Frame of Mind", "A way of looking at things", a"School of thought, perspective". "Standpoint" and many many more explanations for this word.

Basically, to me, If you have a bad attitude you are in a negative mood, if you have a good attitude you are in a positive frame of mind.

If you are intending to do business with a "Bad" attitude you are bound to fail, if you have a good attitude, usually this is a sign you will have success.

Teenagers seem to florish on a Bad attitude, being rude, and obnoxious most of the time, wanting their own way, treating their parents as if they are idiots and they know everything, and think they are 10 foot tall and beyond any bad things happening. Fortunately they do grow out of this behaviour and seem to forget what they were like.

However when you are in business, you definitely need a good attitude, but don't let others walk over you,  Think of your goals and focus on these and where you need to be in 5 years. Do not let people with a bad attitude steal your dream.  Don't ever quit.  Have you read the story about the family who discovered gold, They bought a huge amount of machinery and had big dream of what they would do with the money.  They worked like crazy but the gold ran out very quickly they got so disheartened, they sold the equipment to a second hand trader for a few hundred dollars and were really out of pocket they had spent so much and the dream was gone.

The second hand trader thought he would give it a go and went and sought some good advice from a surveyor who specialised in gold mining.  He came and looked at the site and said not a problem gold has a habit of coming up in a different angle from the original find, he told the second hand dealer where to dig.  The advice was correct and gold was found in a seam only a few yards from where the family had given up digging.  The mine is still going to this day and much of the gold in USA comes from this mine.

Life is not always straight forward, and if you get stuck don't hesitate to get some good advice, but don't be afraid to learn, and keep learning new things every day.  If you mentor gives you advice, take it on board, and act upon it.  They usually have been down the track you are about to go down, and he/she may not always give you the advice you would like to hear, but believe me, you should take it on board, swallow your pride and follow the persona who has been there and done that and is now successful.  If you follow the path of successful people you will succeed.
