Action speaks louder than words

I came across this video by Kevin Sousa today that I feel is very relevant to everyone who has goals to achieve.

You can have the best intentions in the world and ideas of what you want to achieve but if you don't take action nothing is going to happen.

You have a plan, you know that you have to do certain things every day but when it is the end of the day ,did you actually take action and carry out what you wanted to do that day?

You talk about what you are going to do but do you actually do it?  Actions speak louder than talk.  If you say you are going to do something then why don't we do it?  The other word for it is procrastination.  Yes a big word what it means is that you put off doing what needs to be done.

You might ask why we do this, well sometimes what needs to be done is too hard or not pleasant, whatever it is we must address it.  What we do generally is do all the jobs that are easy first, and leave the hard things till the end of the day, and then what happens is we are really not up to doing the harder more necessary task and they get left.

My theory is that if you do the hard tasks first you feel you have accomplished something and can get on with the other tasks with a clear mind.  I have a saying that when you start work in the morning eat the frog first. and then that task is done for the day.

Taking action is the most important any of us can do to achieve whatever goals we set.  Together with telling someone that you will do something and then don't actually do it.

New year will be here in a matter of weeks now so let's make this a New Year Resolution.  To Succeed in 2014 by taking action, doing what we say we will do, being reliable and honest with ourselves.

Remember this "If you fail plan you plan to fail" so make sure you set your plan for each day (your DMO) so you know what action you have to take and do the hardest tasks first.
